Anesthesia

Pet Anesthesia

Anesthesia is used to provide a pain-free environment for your pet while they are undergoing surgery, dentistry or other medical procedures. To ensure your pet’s safety while under anesthesia, your pet’s EKG, respiration, heart rate, oxygen content, blood pressure, and temperature will be monitored. In most cases, your pet will also have an intravenous catheter to deliver fluids and medicine.

PRAH has a fully stocked pharmacy that allows you to fill a prescription for your pet at the time of your visit. If your pet needs a medication that is not in stock at PRAH, we can order it for you. You can also get home delivery through our online pharmacy.

Pet Health Certificates

Pet Health Certificates

Our veterinarians are licenced and USDA-accredited and issue health certifications. The document will contain specific details about your pet, like its breed, age, microchip, and so forth. Additionally, it verifies that your pet seems to be disease-free and includes all of the vaccinations that your pet has had.

If this is your first visit to PRAH, please bring the following items with you to your appointment:

Please be sure to list any specific physical symptoms your pet is experiencing along with any changes in behavior, appetite or activity level. Also, records or Paperwork from any previous veterinarians or place of adoption. If you do not have these records, please bring the name and phone number of the clinic where your pet was most recently examined.

Fecal Sample. A fecal sample allows PRAH to check for intestinal parasites. Please bring a fresh sample, no more than 24 hours old. For the safety and comfort of all, cats should be transported to appointments in a carrier and dogs should be leashed. If you have any questions about your visit,
